Aamir on Taare Zameen Par's entry to the Oscars

Following up to the selection of Taare Zameen Par as India's entry to the Oscars, links to all future posts on the subject will be added to this post. I'm no more or less an Aamir Khan fan because of this -- awards and recognition alone maketh a good film not. It's just fantastic to have Aamir representing Bollywood at the global platform again. I know this is from another film, but Chale Chalo. It should be an interesting (and hopefully fun) ride. In the mean time, fellow fans, let's hope for the best...let the TZP '09 Campaign begin!

Hey, did you see he actually posted on his blog today? Just a couple sentences, but I have hope that we'll get a reaction to the nomination there too.

i think the movie was very good wrt indian context but not sure if it has global appeal or not, the pressure to perform is too much on students in india, i hope the jury members appreciate it and may oscar find its way to land of snake charmers :-)...

Ajnabi: Yes, I saw his note. Thanks for the update. I hope too to have his unedited take, although it wouldn't be surprising if we didn't get any reaction there -- the filming for 3 Idiots is in full swing, Ghajini's upcoming, and then this!

Shweta: As an Aamirian, I can safely say I knew it all along, LOL ;)

Hi Nitin: The message behind TZP is pretty universal. Yes, it is geared to Indian society, but it can be applied elsewhere. Surely, let's hope the jury members appreciate it enough to get it in the top 5. One step at a time!

Thanks for visiting!
