September 10, 2008: A post on 3 Idiots (why not spell 'three'?) has been long overdue. It's a Vidhu Vinod Chopra film by Rajkumar Hirani tentatively scheduled for a July 2009 release. Starring Aamir Khan (yes!), Kareena Kapoor (yes!), Sharman Joshi and Madhavan (all right, they were in Rang De Basanti (2006) after all, so an equally enthusiastic 'yes!'), and Boman Irani (what a cast!). It was slated to begin filming with Aamir earlier this month (per Aamir in a chat session with fans from about a month ago). That's likely why Aamir hasn't blogged in a bit. Kareena Kapoor has long said she's wanted to work with Aamir, so she got her wish.
Per this Raju Hirani interview (which also has some Shah Rukh-related gossip), the movie started out with ideas from a book titled Five Point Someone by Chetan Bhagat. And per this piece, the film will be shot in Ladakh, Delhi, Mumbai, and Bangalore. Good! I've been longing to see more of India in our films. The music will be provided by Shantanu Moitra. He's delivered fantastic soundtracks to Parineeta (2005), Lage Raho Munnabhai (2005), Khoya Khoya Chaand (2007), Eklavya (2007), etc.
And finally, someone want to guess why this set from the film would remind us of the word 'camera'? (see answer below)
