these are amazing!
thank you!
Thank *you* Anonymous! Hope to keep up this list.
Lately I've been learning a new song in my dance class and the song's Gori Gori in Main Hoon Na,
I've been searching for the translation but couldn't come up with one, the song sounds very energetic to me though,
not sure if it is too much of an asking... can you shed some light on what this song is about?
Hi Brooke: There's a translation of the song available at this link (third song from the bottom). Hope you find it useful. It's a fun song, and sounds like it's a fun dance class you're attending! ;)
Thank you for visiting. Do stop by again!
Thank you so much for the link... now I know more of the mood that I should have while dancing this song^^ I sure will drop by more often~~
Sure, you're very welcome. Have fun in your class(es)!!!
Youre awesome at this whole lyrics/translation thing, if you did it for a lot more songs I think it would be beneficial for everyone! I love it.
Thank you Anonymous for your kind words, greatly appreciate them, and glad you found the translations useful :) I'll hope to add more, time permitting. Cheers.
Hi, could you also upload Rab ne bana di jodi songs translation.. especially Phir milenge chalte chalte?? Thanks n Great Job =D
Hi Anonymous: Thank you for your visit, comment, and kind words. 'Phir Milenge Chalte Chalte' from Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi is a fun compilation of some fantastic classics. You might find this post interesting. And this BollyWhat link has translations to some (if not all) songs from the film, including that to the song. Enjoy!
Hey, awesome translations! really liked your guzarish translation. I was wondering if you could translate the song Khuda Jaane from Bachna Ae Haseeno. It would be really great of you if you could do that for me. thanks again =]
Hey BWF,
This is KatieG from the Aamir blog. Do you have a translation for Pardeshi, Pardeshi Jana Nahi from Raja Hindustani? If so, Can you forward it to my e-mail. This site rocks. I love it....
Regards,
Katherine
Varun: Thank you! Guzarish is a brilliant song, and its picturization is excellent, don't you think? Khuda Jaane is a cool song, here's one translation (scroll down and you'll see it there). Hope this helps.
Katie: Thanks so much for stopping by, what an honor! I don't have a translation for Pardesi Pardesi (not yet, at least; Raja Hindustani deserves its own detailed review), but BollyWhat has one at this link.
I liked our blog Boss's most recent post. It's got 'him' written all over it (that image he's talking about probably didn't, LOL). Do come again. I'll write to you over the weekend.
can you please translate title song for the movie Ramchand Pakistani??? PLEASE!!
Hi Alina, thank you for your visit and comment. Do you mean Phir Wohi Raaste?
Oh yes!!!! I'm totally in love with it, can you also please write original words in translit? I looked everywhere but cant find lyrics neither translation (at least not in english websites).
thank you! Alina.
Cool. It's a great song, I agree (wrote about the film here). I'll try my best to have it up in about a couple of weeks from today (this index will be updated with the link), please bear with the lead time. :)
Great! thank you in advance! I watched this movie in urdu and understood everything not word by word but the message and emotions. I think these people similar to slavic nations in the range of emotions they feel and the way they transfer them into the art/music/movies.
i guess the language of the misery, pain, and yet hope is universal.
BTW now that i took a look I realized that I've read your description when I was doing my research re this movie.
where in LA do you live?
Alina
the language of the misery, pain, and yet hope is universal.
Absolutely agree, Alina. The thing with any form of art is that it's so much closer to life! Ref: whereabouts in L.A., please feel free to e-mail me, thebollywoodfan at gmail dot com. Cheers.
Hi, might you have a translation of Chanhan from Water (2005)?
Thanks
TW in Berkeley
Hi ! it's fantastic to find those lyrics. Some songs were already in my mind for quite a long time, but unfortunately I couldn't make any sense ... Thanks to you BWF, not only do I understand what I have been repeating but I also have discovered other very nice songs too.
Now, another favor please ...I would like to know where I can find the meaning of the lyrics of Chal Chaiyya. And since I'm a bollywood songs addict, I might ask you for further info.
Thanks a lot.
TW: Thank you for visiting. That's a great song from Water, and I'm afraid I don't have its translation, nor can I find somewhere to direct you to right away. Might the DVD have one?
Anonymous: Thank you for your kind words. You're very welcome, I'm glad you found the translations of some value. There are always so very many songs to enjoy, isn't it a beautiful thing? This BollyWhat page has a translation to Chaiyya Chaiyya from Dil Se...enjoy!
Alina: I'm late by a couple of days, but I just added the lyrics and translation to Phir Wohi Raaste to the bottom of the Ramchand Pakistani post. :) Cheers.
Dear BollywoodFan!
I want to thank you for your efforts and for your poetic translation. It is indeed a wonderful song.
I speak russian so if you ever would like translation please let me know I will be happy to do so :o))))
Thank you again for your kindness.
Alina.
Writing the song is the difficult part, Alina, the thanks go to the lyricist :) Thank you for stopping by! And you're very welcome; really glad you found it of value. Cheers.
I am a South Indian with a (very very very) limited grasp of Hindi. It's been one of my regrets that I didn't learn it when I was young although there were opportunities to be had.
I have always been fascinated with the beauty of the language, and the natural poetry involved with the Urdu flavored Hindi.
I recently came across the Gajhini translation of th Guzarish song, and was awestruck by the sheer beauty of the poetry, not to mention the lilting music it is set to.
Could you please take the time to do a similar (poetic) translation of the Astitva(2000) songs. I liked everything about the movie and songs were a big part of it. With my limited understanding, my guess is the songs (especially chal chal mere) are also quite poetic and enjoyable enough just to read.
I know it is an old movie and you need to be focusing your time on more recent ones, but I would really appreciate if you would do this.
Thanks for your effort. I sure am glad for people like you who spread the joy.
Krish..
Anonymous, thank you so much for your kind words. It's never too late to learn, as long as you want to learn and can make a reasonable amount of time for it!
The songs to Ghajini are quite remarkable, glad you enjoyed Guzaarish. Astitva's songs are interesting; it's been difficult to make time for the translations, though, so if I don't get to them, please do forgive.
Once again, thanks so much for your visit and comment. Do come again!
