Aamir Khan in new Tata Sky commercial

This one's interesting and hilarious. Aamir's dressed as a woman before (in Baazi -- here's the review). This will probably sound like a broken record, but seriously...there probably aren't too many who can pull this off :o)

Didn't find one with translations. Basically, it's a spot for a satellite provider, and the husband and wife argue over which provider to subscribe to, before revealing that the new and improved service is provided by a joint venture between the two brands (Tata from India, Sky from England).

I was planning to write about this one myself -- he is indeed fantastic in it! The one thing you could count on in an Aamir ad is that he does something interesting even with a 30 second spot. He seemed to have abandoned that dictum in his recent Samsung and Titan ads, so this one represents a refreshing return to form.

Hillarious! In my opinion, Aamir Khan is probably the only Khan that can come off as an authentic Punjabi munda, or kudi for that matter :)

Anyway here’s a compilation I found of other Bollywood actors who have graced the silver screen in feminine avatars…

P.S. ‘Rock On’ has been receiving fantastic reviews and comparisons to Dil Chahta Hai. Think I might just see this one on the big screen after all.

OMG, I saw it a couple of days ago. It is sooo hilarious! Only Aamir can do something like that!

Hi Ramsu: Agree about the Samsung and Titan ads, although the 'Be born everyday' bit worked for me. I also liked the ones for the Monaco (crackers). But he's done really well here, indeed. Again, as you say, the uniqueness of the approach makes it what it is.

Hi Salek: Thanks for the link. Might just go see 'Rock On' this weekend! Thanks for the alert. Farhan Akhtar deserved as much credit as the cast of Dil Chahta Hai. Can't wait to see his latest.

Hi Nicki: When I first learned of it, I wasn't sure what to think about Aamir dressed as a woman again. In Baazi, it was different (the purpose behind it was justified by the film), but this is just...different. And a very funny kind of 'different', LOL. I really like the part where the husband says, "Taa Taa". =)

Great ad - but I think Aamir made a prettier woman in Baazi. lol

And for the record, I think Shah Rukh Khan makes an equally good Punjabi munda though no arguments on the kudi front! :-)

Bollyviewer: LOL in agreement about the comment on Aamir in Baazi and on the kudi front!

There's a video out there on the making of this ad, and I'll hope to share it soon.

Point taken on Shah Rukh as a Punjabi munda.

On a related note, Salman Khan is going to be seen playing a Punjabi dude soon. In a patriotic film titled 'Heroes', also starring Sunny Deol, Bobby Deol, Mithun Chakrobarty, Preity Zinta, and others. Should be interesting.
