The Unforgettable Tour week is Amitabh and Madhuri week

All Unforgettable Week posts (this list will be updated often through the week of 7/21):

The first show of The Unforgettable Tour has started tonight in Toronto, Canada. Spoke to my cousins there and they were all quite excited to go. Hoping they're as cheerful when they return.

Join me in celebrating the careers of arguably two of the most significant and prolific actors in Bollywood history -- Amitabh Bachchan and Madhuri Dixit. The Tour features others as well, but Madhuri and especially Amit, will remain the focus of my posts through the weekend following the Los Angeles stop of The Unforgettable Tour on July 26.

Amit-ji has, of late, been notorious for dividing Bollywood into 'camps'. And let me not even delve into what I know of his career in politics, for it has been ruthlessly biased against some minority groups including the one(s) I am affiliated with. These are things I, as a Bollywood evangelist (if at all there is such a thing), am going to try to ignore for a bit, as I salute the actor who has changed the face of Indian cinema forever. By the most significant metric for an actor -- performance in films -- Amitabh Bachchan is easily among the top three of all time (Dilip Kumar and Aamir Khan being the other two; Lata ji and the Mangeshkar family agree).

To learn more of Amit from the man himself, check out this interview at the British Academy of Film and Television Arts (BAFTA) website. Interesting bits include him on his first film, his family (his mother went to school and taught in Lahore, Pakistan), and dinner time in an Indian household.

Here is the Tour schedule. Several friends and family are going to the stops of the Tour at the locations with asterisks, and I shall hope to garner their opinions as well. Do share your experiences too! The bottom of this post shall be updated with links to the other Unforgettable Tour Week posts.
