Happy Father's Day, Ishwar chacha!

It is fitting that the seventh anniversary of Lagaan falls on Father's Day, for the film is a father figure of sorts for modern Indian cinema.

Here is my favorite papa-themed song (which should come as no surprise). And consistent with this week's theme, here is a salute to Ishwar (played by Srivallabh Vyas) from Lagaan, for he was perhaps the most influential father figure in the film.

So when Gauri is harassed by Lakha (how memorable was the dialogue, "Ab to pehen le chudi mere naam ki," i.e. 'at least now wear the bangles in my name'?)...
