Apart from being an old family friend (Shammi Kapoor having worked in Nasir Hussain classics like Teesri Manzil and Tumsa Nahin Dekha), Aamir considers Shammiji as his lucky mascot and has been seeking his blessings right from his debut film.
With music by A. R. Rahman and lyrics by Abbas Tyrewala, the film stars Genelia D'Souza and Aamir Khan's nephew Imran Khan. Here are the rest of the posts on the film (including trailers). Here is a news piece noting the actors' reluctance to discuss the film's plot. And here is the track listing:

Rashid Ali

Glad Runa Rizvi gets a song. She was excellent in Rafta Rafta from the film Katputtli (2006) -- listen to it here -- in a song that went largely unnoticed. Should be fun!
It might be a couple of days before I can buy, listen, listen again, and share thoughts on the music. My experience with A. R. Rahman soundtracks is that they tend to grow on the listener over time. A fair music review, then, would follow three to four listens, which I know will happen because of the quality of Rahman's products!
Those of you who listen to it earlier...your thoughts?

Hi Anuraj: Thank you for stopping by. Agree with your assessment of the Jaane Tu soundtrack. I do think it is the best of the year, but I would be curious to see how Ghajini's music will compare to this to wrap up 2008. I do believe Ghajini will be atypical even by Aamir Khan standards, because the theme seems to warrant something extraordinary.
As for the awards...I cannot imagine anyone other than A. R. Rahman winning the music awards next year. First Jodhaa Akbar, then Jaane Tu and Ada, and he's still not done!
Thanks for your reply dude...Rahman if i am not mistaken also has Main Yuvraj which is a MUSICAL MOVIE..i mean a movie about music..it stars Salman and Katrina..seems to be held up because of Salman's other commitments..
but i am sure if the maker shows interest..Rahman will do good there also
