Rama Rama Kya Hai Drama?

Watched Rama Rama Kya Hai Dramaa (2008) starring Rajpal Yadav, Neha Dhupia, Anupam Kher, Rati Agnihotri, Aashish Chaudhary, and Amrita Arora, among others. It got me yet again. The allure of a movie initiated by a decent soundtrack and star cast. Disappointed to where it suffices to say that the movie is made sincerely but gets very redundant very fast. With some good editing, we might have had an hour-long film without missing much at all.

The highlights of the film are easily identifiable. There are primarily two:

1. The soundtrack is well above average, with Khaabon se Nikal ke by Alisha Chinai and Yeh Faasle by Adnan Sami having good repeat listening value. Laija Laija (sung by Khushboo Jain) is another above average song. The title track by Adnan Sami is funny and does its part.

2. Rajpal Yadav is effective. The rest of the cast does its job, but the plot is too ordinary and the comedy too redundant, causing the film to lose its effectiveness and of the positive teachings it had the potential to impart (yes, the potential was definitely there).

I am going to skip anything close to a more thorough review, for I recommend against watching this one. This is something I seldom do. Sadly, a disappointing film, one that gets one star for being below average and for wasting potential. I expected much better from the portfolios of the likes of Neha Dhupia and Rajpal Yadav.

Movie rating: 1/5 (below average)

My classification: PG-13

Soundtrack rating: 2.75/5 (above average)
