Looking forward to Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na

Discussed in this October post that I looked forward to the upcoming Aamir Khan Productions release, Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na. The film will star actress Genelia De Souza and Aamir Khan's nephew, Imran Khan (not to be confused with a much bigger South Asian celebrity with the same name -- remember the cricketing legend?), something to look forward to in itself.

Watch the first trailer below, or at the film's official website (where you can also download for your iPod, as I did): http://www.jaanetu.com. Here are the rest of the posts related to the film.

The film is produced by Mansoor Khan (that's Aamir bhai's cousin, who was the director for films like Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak (1988) and Jo Jeeta Wohi Sikander (1992)). Written and directed by Abbas Tyrewala (who wrote films like Munna Bhai MBBS (2003), Maqbool (2003), and Main Hoon Na (2004)), and has music by A.R. Rahman.

The following from this Aamir Khan blog entry, which also includes notes on his injury and thoughts on how 'unexciting' it was:

Yes, I finally managed to lure Mansoor out of his hiding place. When I took over as director of TZP I needed a hands-on producer on JT so I requested Mansoor. To his credit despite his reluctance he did not hesitate to step in. I would like to think it was because of me but I suspect it was because of Nasir Sahab. Both Mansoor and I know that Nasir Sahab would have wanted the two of us to stand by Imran at this important juncture in his career. So Mansoor makes a return, albeit as Producer.

Very cool! First of all, if the music in the trailer is anything to go by, the soundtrack is well worth looking forward to. Then again, any A.R. Rahman soundtrack is well worth looking forward to. But this should be fun. Yay to the two Aamir Khan-A.R. Rahman soundtracks this year (the other being Ghajini) which definitely calls for a celebration that we (the Aamirians, defined simply as die-hard Aamir Khan fans) shall save for the awards season in early 2009 ;) Oh wait, they don't really matter, do they?! =)
