Aamir Khan injured during Ghajini shoot

Oh no! Aamir Khan suffered a hamstring injury while performing an action sequence for his 2008 film Ghajini. The following from this news piece:

The scene was such that Aamir had to pick up a very bulky man and throw him against the wall and due to this Aamir pulled his hamstring muscle while he was enacting the action scene. This happened at Ramuji Rao Studios in Hyderabad yesterday. A Physiotherapist was then called in for Aamir.

The Ghajini team has been canning some complex action shots since past few days which are important part of the film. However, due to Aamir's injury, the shooting of the film has been indefinitely postponed.

Some reports suggest that Aamir will be sidelined for at least 15 days. Still, knowing Aamir, we can expect the release per schedule (around Diwali/Eid this year). Thankfully (based on what we know, at least), it's a hamstring injury and nothing worse. Relatively speaking, that is. Here is to a speedy recovery. What with the prayers and wishes of his legions of fans, he will hopefully undergo exactly that.

Speaking of the potential for injuries on the film sets...the actor is bold enough to do scenes such as this one in Ghulam (1998), in which he took on an oncoming train and refused the services of a stuntman. Talk about the risk there. Lifting a bulky man and throwing him against a wall hardly compares. While on Ghulam, two thumbs up to Rani Mukherjee for her excellent acting in the film. A much better performance across Aamir than in Mangal Pandey (2005), in my humble opinion.

I never knew Aamir had done this himself. Amazing stuff.
