We acknowledge and appreciate how the pervasiveness of MP3 players and customization of playlists have enabled us to create soundtracks to our lives. The opportunities to test the effectiveness of these playlists are always welcome. I got a few such opportunities during my recent trips to France and England. While soundtracks to Namastey London (2007) and Chocolate (2005) topped my charts in London, it was Salaam-e-Ishq (2006) and my favorite [English] music groups Six Pence None the Richer and Frou Frou that dominated in Paris.
I wonder why we haven't had many Hindi films shot in Paris, even partly. All I remember is the song Ajooba from Jeans (1998, was it?) which had a little scene by the Eiffel Tower, but I do not recall there being a strong connection at all between Bollywood and Paris. Hope that changes, for Paris is an amazing city. Speaking of Paris, here are a couple of pictures shot by yours truly, in this order: The arc at Champs Elysees, the Eiffel Tower, and the Notre Dame.
